There are high and low sounds. On the keyboard, the higher sounds are to the right, and the lower sounds are to the left.

The further to the right you play, the higher the sounds become. And the further you play to the left, the lower the sounds become.
Moving up on the keyboard is fairly easy because you've learned the ABC at school. Moving down is more difficult. It’s useful to learn the sequence ABCDEFG backwards: GFEDCBA. You can practise this in the brain gym.
